Heidi Travels tasked me with designing a poster for a campaign promoting Turkey as a must-visit destination. The goal was to create a captivating 11”x17” portrait poster, along with a digital version for website use, that would spark wanderlust and highlight Turkey’s cultural and natural attractions. Through research, including interviews with travelers and insights from travel blogs, I focused on showcasing iconic locations like Pamukkale’s magical blue terraces, crystal-clear harbors, and the floating hot air balloons of Cappadocia at sunset. I integrated historical structures and the Turkish flag, creating a harmonious visual panorama that captured the essence of the country. The tagline “Treat yourself” was paired with an image of a traveler gazing towards the horizon, emphasizing the reflective and transformative experience of visiting Turkey. The final deliverables included a print-ready CMYK poster and a digital file for Online use.

Client and Project Background:
Heidi Travels is a travel agency launching a marketing campaign focused on various global destinations, with Turkey as the primary highlight.

Design Brief:
(The Problem) Design a poster and digital file for website use, capturing Turkey’s key attractions while reflecting its national identity. The goal is to create a visual piece that entices viewers to stop, dream, and plan their next adventure.

Research and Inspiration:
Interviews with travelers, coupled with insights from Online travel reports and blogs, helped identify key historical and natural landmarks. These were combined to offer a balanced view of Turkey’s beauty and cultural heritage, fueling inspiration for the design.

Concept Development:
The concept centers around the magical blues of Pamukkale’s terraces and the crystal-clear harbors, creating a visual anchor for the piece. Historic structures, such as ancient defensive walls, are subtly integrated into the design, and Turkey’s national flag is strategically placed in the composition’s third section. Floating hot air balloons over Cappadocia at sunset symbolize the dream-like quality of the journey. The tagline, “Treat yourself,” is paired with a reflective image of a traveler gazing towards the horizon, suggesting a moment of self-reflection amidst the grandeur of Turkey’s landscape. The design arranges various attractions in a harmonious, panoramic layout, inviting viewers to envision the country as one seamless destination.

Challenges:
The primary challenge was balancing the visual variation of multiple destinations while maintaining a sense of harmony throughout the design.

Final Deliverables/Solution(s):
A print-ready poster (11”x17” portrait CMYK file) was provided, along with a digital version optimized for website and store display use.

Conclusion:
The design successfully captured the essence of Turkey as a dream destination, encouraging viewers to “Treat yourself” to a journey full of history, beauty, and adventure.
